  Volume training does work despite the skinny writers (or obese, as the case may be) who insist no growth occurs beyond 2 sets. But, volume training is what really differentiates a bodybuilder from a weightlifter, not intensity. Volume work, increasing both the size of the muscle cell itself and also the blood vessels and fluids in and surrounding the muscle, works.
